About Anwer Khan Modern Medical College

Anwer Khan Modern Medical College is the private medical Hospital in Bangladesh. It was established in 2008 by a group of dedicated people called the founder members who were imbued with the ideals of providing quality medical education, research and services to people of this country at reasonable cost. The Anwer Khan Modern Medical College, is located in Dhanmond, Dhaka at the heart of the capital city of Bangladesh. The campus includes 4 six storied modern buildings and an annexe space close by. Adjacent to the college building Batayan 1 and 2 are used as hospitals with general wards, consultant chambers, ICU, Operation Theatres, modern diagnostic lab etc.

Anwer Khan Modern Medical College offers a 5-year MBBS Program approved by the BMDC and affiliated to the University of Dhaka. It is also permitted to operate by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. The College is affiliated with the University of Dhaka since 2008.

The cost of medical education is higher in developed and developing countries in comparison to Bangladesh. Ministry of health has sanctioned 50% of total seat for admission of foreign students in private Medical College with the existing facilities we can admit foreign students who can avail quality medical education at an economical competitive price. The clinical departments such as medicine, Surgery, Gynae & Obst, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Cardiology, Oncology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and Anaesthesia etc are situated in the hospital building. These include spacious wards, cabins and other required teaching facilities.

With full time academic staff comprising of professors, Asst Professors, Assoc. Professors and 32 lecturers Anwer Khan Medical College, Bangladesh is poised to provide quality medical education at an affordable cost.

The curriculum is modelled as per the requirements of the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council and closely tallies with that of the Medical Council of India. The First Professional MBBS Course is for 1 and ½ years from January to July of the next year. The 2nd and 3rd Professional MBBS spans 1 year each and the 4th and Final spans 1 and ½ years.

Class Rooms

There are 5 large fully air conditioned class rooms. In addition, there are departmental tutorial rooms attached with the respective departments. The Anatomy Dissection Hall is fully air conditioned.

The laboratories of various departments like Pathology, Biochemistry, etc are well equipped with instruments.

Audiovisual Equipment

Each class is provided with overhead projector, slide projector and microphone system. In addition, multimedia projectors and computers are also available for teaching.

There are 5 large fully air conditioned class rooms. In addition, there are departmental tutorial rooms attached with the respective departments. The Anatomy Dissection Hall is fully air conditioned. The laboratories of various departments like Pathology, Biochemistry, etc are well equipped with instruments.

Library

The College has a modern fully air conditioned library with Internet facilities. The library has a collection of over 1565 books including expensive latest journals. It subscribes 16 international medical journals on an annual basis.

The library has accommodation for seating 100 students and 15 teachers at any given time. The Medical Education Unit (MEU) is attached to the library.

MEU has computers for use by students and faculty members. Fax, Internet and E-mail facilities are freely available and are widely used.

Admissions & Eligibility

Program	International MBBS Program Issued by Dhaka, English Medium.
Medium	The medium of instruction is English.
Duration	5 years Studies and 1 year Internship. Internship may be done either in the university or in the home country.
Eligibility	1. Minimum aggregate GPA in SSC or equivalent and HSC or equivalent : 7.00 2. Minimum GPA in biology: 3.5
MCI Eligibility	Eligibility Certificate to pursue Primary Medical Qualification (MBBS or its equivalent) by an Indian Citizen/Overseas Citizen of India is mandatory in terms of section 13(4B) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Click Here to Download application form.
